By downloading, installing, or using StrayDex, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the app.
StrayDex is provided for personal, non-commercial entertainment use on iOS and Android. You agree to use the app only for its intended purpose: finding, photographing, and virtually collecting real-world cats as in-game cards. You are responsible for using the app safely and in compliance with all applicable laws while doing so, including respecting private property and trespassing laws, the privacy of any other people you may encounter, and the animals you photograph. Do not use StrayDex in any way that puts you, other people, or animals at risk, or that infringes on the rights of property owners or other individuals.
Photos you take within StrayDex are processed initially on your device for cat detection and background removal. By default, your actual cat photos remain locally on your device. If you choose to log in with Google or Apple, your photos are synced to the cloud. You retain all rights to the photos you take.
You are completely responsible for the cat images you take or upload. We allow taking pictures of cats from photographs or a laptop screen so you can bring your favorite past cat pictures into the game. However, this means you must ensure you have the right to use these images. You must not use copyrighted materials, licensed photos, or stock images (such as Google stock photos) that you do not own. We are not responsible for any copyright claims or issues arising from the photos you capture. If any copyright claim arises or an infringement is found, we reserve the right to delete the image from our servers immediately to protect ourselves from liability.
StrayDex does not currently offer in-app purchases. The app includes optional rewarded video ads, provided by Google AdMob, that grant bonus Linen Balls (in-game throw currency) when voluntarily watched to completion. Ads are never required to play, and a reward is only ever granted for an ad actually watched, never for a failed, skipped, or dismissed ad.
StrayDex is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis, without warranties of any kind. Cat detection and identification within the app are provided for entertainment purposes only and should not be relied on for veterinary, medical, or animal-welfare decisions. Please stay aware of your surroundings and act responsibly when photographing animals outdoors. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continuing to use StrayDex after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
