By downloading, installing, or using StrayDex, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the app.
StrayDex is provided for personal, non-commercial entertainment use on iOS and Android. You agree to use the app only for its intended purpose: finding, photographing, and virtually collecting real-world cats as in-game cards. You are responsible for using the app safely and legally, including respecting private property and the animals you photograph.
Photos you take within StrayDex are processed entirely on your device. Cat detection, background removal, and card generation all happen locally, and your photos are never uploaded to our servers or shared with any third party. You retain all rights to the photos you take. StrayDex only stores a generated card image and a downscaled copy of the photo locally on your device, tied to your local save data.
StrayDex does not currently offer in-app purchases. The app includes optional rewarded video ads, provided by Google AdMob, that grant a bonus Linen Ball (in-game throw currency) when voluntarily watched to completion. Ads are never required to play, and a reward is only ever granted for an ad actually watched, never for a failed, skipped, or dismissed ad.
StrayDex is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis, without warranties of any kind. Cat detection and identification within the app are provided for entertainment purposes only and should not be relied on for veterinary, medical, or animal-welfare decisions. Please stay aware of your surroundings and act responsibly when photographing animals outdoors. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continuing to use StrayDex after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
