Point your camera at a real cat. AI confirms it’s actually a cat before you spend a Linen Ball, then lifts it cleanly out of the photo for its card.
Drag your yarn ball back and let it fly. Land inside the shrinking ring for an Excellent, Great, or Nice catch, across forests, coasts, dirt roads, and lakes.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is StrayDex free to play?
StrayDex has no in-app purchases. It includes optional rewarded video ads that give you a bonus Linen Ball (the game's throw currency) if you choose to watch one, but ads are never required to play.
Are ads ever forced?
No. Every ad in StrayDex is entirely your choice. You decide if and when to watch a rewarded ad for a bonus Linen Ball, and the game never interrupts you with an ad you didn't ask for.
Does StrayDex need an internet connection?
Yes. While cat detection and background removal run locally on your device for snappy performance, StrayDex requires an internet connection for minting cards and saving your inventory to the cloud. Please note that your cat images only get saved to the cloud when you are logged in.
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
Your photos are analyzed locally on your device. By default, they stay on your phone. If you choose to log in with an authentication provider to sync your collection, your photos will then be safely backed up to the cloud.

What is a Linen Ball?
Linen Balls are StrayDex's throw currency. Each throw in the catch mini-game costs one Linen Ball. They recharge naturally over time, or you can watch a rewarded ad for bonus balls!!
Do I need an account to play?
StrayDex automatically logs you in anonymously so you can start playing immediately. If you want to backup your cat photos and sync your collection across devices, you have the option to log in using an auth provider like Google or Apple.
